Welcome to the picnic!
Monthly Themes – The Pear
This month’s theme is the pear. I felt it appropriate to celebrate the pear in my first newsletter…since I love drawing it. Below you’ll find a great pear calendar, a beautiful pear blog, and some fantastic pear art. To finish it all up, I’ve included my pear art in this month’s Lunch Box Specials. Read the last paragraph waaaay below to find out how you can participate in future newsletters or click here.
Monthly Foodie Calendar
Here is a pear foodie calendar just for you. Click on the link below and it will take you to flickr where you can download the calendar on an 8.5” x 11” piece of paper (when you get there click on "Download the Large size"). Please recycle – print it on the back of something else that was meant for the trash…and give that something a second life for at least another month. Find your pear calendar here!
If you’d like a recipe featured from your blog on one of my calendars, please contact me for sponsorship information.
Sweet Food Blogs
How lucky that I found a fabulous blog focused on pears! The Pear Dish blog is hosted by Pear Bureau Northwest, a non-profit organization that represents the pear growers of Oregon and Washington (home to 84% of the pears grown in the US!). If you want to geek out over pears, this is the blog for you! Recipes, “pear pop culture” and more! Find out more here.
Food Art
I found three talented artists that love pears as much as I do. One is a photographer, one is a graphic designer and the last is a toy maker. To learn more about Melissa Lund Fine Art Photography, Lucky Bluebird Art, and La Pomme click here.

Lunch Box Specials
Let’s take a step back in time to highlight some past Lunch Box Project pear illustrations. The highlighted three will only be $45 this month (that is $20 off my normal price) for subscribers of this newsletter only…until they are gone. Remember – I only sell originals (at least for now)! Find out more here.
Submit Your Blogs, Artwork, Ideas
As mentioned earlier, each newsletter will be inspired by a theme. Check in each month to find out about the upcoming themes and submit your recipes, blogs, or artwork that correlate…or comes somewhat close. I’m also open to additional theme ideas and whatever other bright things you want to share.
These are the upcoming monthly themes (remember they must relate back to food in some way!!):
October :: Gourds
November :: Cranberries
December :: Ribbons
January :: Ice
Please contact me with all your fabulous ideas!!
Thanks for the nice break and don’t forget to clean up!
